Week 7 at VIA

This past week I finished my October promos, so I began learning how to create a sizzle reel for the Little League World Series Challenger Game program (a show VIA filmed at the baseball game for children with special needs). A sizzle reel is somewhat like a commercial, showcasing the best, most interesting parts of the show. So, I began by watching the entire show (which is about an hour long) and marking time codes for all the quotes or pieces of footage that I really liked and thought would fit well. As the game is described as the “feel-good game” of the Little League World Series, most of the shots I picked out were emotionally touching in some way.

I also reviewed past sizzle reels done for different shows so I could get a feel for what mine should be like. At the end of the week, I had cut out and moved into Premiere most of the quotes and footage that I want in my sizzle reel, but they are still jumbled and not in the correct order because I still need to write the script for my narrator, which will determine more accurately what order my clips with go in (which I’ll do this upcoming week!).
