This week I was able to get Erika Funke, Senior Producer and Classical Music Host at WVIA-FM, to narrate my sizzle reel for the Challenger Game. I still have some tweeks and edits to do for that, but I’m looking to finish those up by the end of next week.
Aside from that project, I am nearly finished tagging the promo spots of national shows for November that were available for download from PBS Source. VIA is currently undergoing a brand refresh, which includes a new look and color palette for the lower thirds that I use to tag my promo spots. When I log the first promo for a new show, I log it to begin airing the day that I finish (maximizes airtime of promotion and ideally audience), but the new brand is embargoed until November 5. So, for a lot of the premiere promo spots I had to create 2 spots – one tagged with the old lower third that will air now until Nov. 4, and one tagged with the new lower third that can air on and after the 5th. I’m also beginning to look back at some spots I did awhile ago that may need to be retagged for the brand refresh.
Finally, Ben Payavis, Chief Operations Officer, looked over the opens I produced for November’s Call the Doctor shows and said they were good! So, I exported those using a new file type (as they don’t get logged on their own, but get recorded live onto the tape when we film the show).
