I’ve recently begun what will be a 3-month video production internship with Ezra Productions, “an award-winning Los Angeles and New York-based full-service creative agency and video production company,” which is also woman-owned. I’m excited about my opportunity for growth here, as although the internship is remote due to COVID-19, it has already grown my sense of independence and increased my work ethic and self-sufficiency. I am in regular contact with the CEO and founder of Ezra Productions, Jillian Ezra, and together we have put together a preliminary plan to increase online engagement throughout the next three months by producing and posting visually compelling content to Instagram.
My first week, Jillian and I spoke via Google Hangouts for over three hours putting together plans for the future, including apps to use, lenses to buy, scripts to write and content to create. We also discussed generating a more specific brand image and who and what to follow.
We’re discussing launching a series of Instagram Live broadcasts, the first of which we’d like to conduct interview-style with Sophia Banks, director, being our first guest. The purpose of this is to hopefully humanize the role of creating branded content, tell the story behind why Ezra Productions does what it does best, and get brands to identify with our vision. My first task was to script this broadcast and write a series of questions that need to be asked of Sophia beforehand, namely “Can we post some of your content to promote our Live?”.
Throughout the past week I have also used Photoshop heavily to produce various versions of logos in our brand color palettes, changed our Instagram profile picture for a cleaner and more brand-focused look, created static Instagram posts and written captions with relevant tags, produced Instagram story drafts and posts in Premiere to promote award-winning content, and made edits to the company’s main website using Divi in WordPress (add Instagram button, add an award to awards page, add a post to the blog page).
